Parent FAQ

Questions parents ask us most

Don't see yours? Give us a call. We love questions. Or browse more answers for new families.

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit by your child's first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming in.

Can I stay with my child during the visit?

Absolutely. Parents are welcome chairside for every visit. Many kids feel most comfortable holding a parent's hand.

My child is nervous. How do you help?

We use a "tell, show, do" approach: we explain each step, show the tools, and only then begin. We go at your child's pace, and sedation options are available when needed.

Do you accept my insurance?

We're in-network with most PPO dental plans. Call us with your plan details and we'll verify your benefits before the appointment.

How often should kids have a checkup?

Most children should be seen every six months. We may suggest a different schedule based on your child's needs.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call us right away. If a permanent tooth is knocked out, hold it by the crown (not the root), keep it in milk, and come in immediately. For serious injuries, go to the nearest emergency room.
